Zhang Xue's first electric scooter is expected to enter mass production by 2027 at the earliest, featuring a self-developed ZDYD motor with a peak power of 50kW.

According to exclusive reporting from The Paper, Zhang Xue, founder of Zhang Xue Motorcycles, visited lithium battery supplier Ampace today for an inspection and exchange.

Notably, Zhang Xue himself revealed: "Zhang Xue's electric motorcycle could enter mass production as early as next year."

It is understood that Ampace is a lithium battery company jointly established by CATL and ATL. In May this year, Ampace and Zhang Xue Motorcycles had already begun discussions on specific cooperation plans.

At that time, Zhang Xue disclosed the development progress of his first electric motorcycle, stating that a motor was close to development completion, with a diameter of 200 millimeters, a weight of 8 kilograms, and an output of 50 kW.

In July this year, Zhang Xue posted an external characteristic curve chart of the ZDYD motor, showing that this motor can deliver 50 kW of output power and 90 N·m of torque.

Zhang Xue said: "With this motor's performance, what kind of bike should we build? A large scooter with 300 km range, 10%-80% charge in 15 minutes, weighing 170 kg, priced at 30,000+ RMB—would you choose it?"

He also noted that the final challenge for electric two-wheelers might be the inconvenience of charging in residential communities at night, as many urban neighborhoods lack designated parking and charging areas for two-wheelers.

Additionally, in response to netizens urging Zhang Xue Motorcycles to launch a scooter, Zhang Xue posted a video in April stating that work was already underway.

In the video, Zhang Xue said: "Recently, many riders have been urging me to release a scooter. Honestly, we're already working on it. But what we're making is a sporty-off-road style scooter—something fun and exciting, though the price will be relatively higher, definitely much more than traditional 125cc or 150cc models."

A blogger also shared a design rendering, indicating that Zhang Xue's scooter looks like this, quite different from what netizens expected.
