The car is over 4.2 meters long! The all-new BYD Seagull has been spotted in real life: a LiDAR unit mounted on the roof.

Recently, images of the all-new Seagull have surfaced, showing that the new car not only features significantly larger body dimensions but also comes equipped with a roof-mounted LiDAR unit, marking a clear upgrade in hardware configuration.

From the real-car images, the front fascia features sharp, angular lines with sleek polygonal headlight clusters, and the bumper sides incorporate angular concave styling, departing from the current model's rounded design language.

A protruding LiDAR unit can be seen on the roof, which is the most notable configuration change drawing attention. The side profile flows smoothly, with black anti-scuff cladding around the wheel arches and semi-hidden door handles, giving the overall stance a more family-oriented hatchback feel rather than being limited to a micro commuter positioning.

Based on the previously disclosed MIIT filing information, the new car measures 4205×1810×1570mm with a wheelbase of 2650mm. Compared to the current model, the length increases by 425mm and the wheelbase extends by 150mm. The seating layout has been upgraded from 4 seats to 5 seats, significantly improving interior space.

The powertrain continues with a pure electric drive solution, featuring a permanent magnet synchronous drive motor with a maximum power output of 95kW. The battery remains a lithium iron phosphate blade battery, with expected range variants of 305-405 kilometers.

Interior details were previously revealed by Autohome, showing that the entire cabin completely abandons the current model's design approach. The tilted center console island is highly eye-catching with a distinctive design style. The cabin features a larger floating central touchscreen, eliminating the separate digital instrument cluster, with all driving-related information integrated into the central display.

A wireless charging pad is positioned in the front row, and a large pass-through storage space is provided beneath the center console for convenient placement of various personal items. The new two-spoke steering wheel features a slim, minimalist design, with red contrast stitching adorning the seats.
