RISC-V network card chips sold 1 million units in just 3 months! Shiqing Technology: Edge AI can't sell that many in a year.

ShiQing Technology's Vice President of R&D, Qiu Jianle, recently stated that the company couldn't even sell one million end-side AI chips in a year, but with a RISC-V-based USB Gigabit Ethernet chip PT153S, they sold one million units within three months of mass production and shipment.

According to data, this chip was launched in December 2025, and by March-April 2026, shipments had already exceeded one million units.

PT153S is a fully domestically produced USB Gigabit Ethernet chip, with its internal core control unit being ShiQing's self-developed 32-bit RV32IMAC RISC-V core, running at a maximum frequency of 187.5MHz.

One end of the chip features a USB 3.2 Gen1 interface with 5Gbps speed, compatible with SS/HS/FS full-rate modes; the other end is a Gigabit Ethernet port supporting 10/100/1000M auto-negotiation. From design, tape-out to packaging, everything is completed domestically.

In terms of performance, the PT153S achieves a measured iperf throughput of around 950Mbps, approaching the theoretical limit of Gigabit. Power consumption and temperature rise are on par with mainstream competitors on the market, supporting three power modes: Normal, Powersaving, and Sleep.

The chip adopts a pin-compatible design strategy with mainstream competitors, allowing customers to directly replace existing chips without major circuit modifications.

Currently, the PT153S supports plug-and-play on Windows, macOS, and Linux without drivers, and has also been adapted for Android and HarmonyOS. Support for gaming console platforms is in planning, expected to be completed within the next 3 to 6 months.

Qiu Jianle described this market as "small but beautiful" — as long as you identify it accurately and move in quickly, you can ramp up volume immediately.
