Mac returns to American manufacturing! Tim Cook appears at Apple's Houston factory, where Mac Mini is about to enter mass production.

Apple CEO Tim Cook attended the unveiling ceremony of a new manufacturing facility in Houston, Texas, and announced the official launch of the new "Advanced Manufacturing Center" (AMC).

At the ceremony, Cook stated: "In less than nine months, we have invested hundreds of millions of dollars into the Houston site, rapidly completing construction, achieving production, and already shipping the first batch of advanced AI servers."

According to reports, within this approximately 20,000-square-foot (1,858 square meters) center, Apple experts will directly share professional knowledge with participating companies and entrepreneurs, supporting the intelligent upgrade of manufacturing across the United States.

Later this year, the facility will also begin production of the Mac Mini desktop computer; currently, parts of the facility are already dedicated to assembling Apple's in-house AI servers.

As Apple's iconic compact desktop computer, the Mac Mini is known for its small form factor and full desktop-level performance, serving everyday consumers, developers, and small studios for years.

Bringing the Mac product line to U.S. soil for production signals Apple's strategic shift toward domestic manufacturing in its supply chain布局.

Notably, the establishment of the AMC builds on the Apple Manufacturing Academy. Founded in Detroit in August 2025, the academy has already helped nearly 1,000 U.S. companies learn smart manufacturing technologies and integrate AI into production processes.

The academy also offers flexible on-demand virtual courses covering automation, quality control optimization, visual machine learning, and professional development training, providing strong support for cultivating manufacturing talent across the nation.
