US version iPhone experiences sudden large-scale outage: SOS appears on phone status bar

According to reports from Kuai Technology on July 28, T-Mobile experienced a massive network outage across the United States, causing a large number of iPhone devices to go down, with the device status bar uniformly displaying the "SOS" indicator.

Based on data compiled by Downdetector, the T-Mobile network outage began around 4:00 PM Eastern Time. The outage covers an extremely wide range, with users across the United States reporting service issues, affecting a broad area.

On social media platforms, thousands of T-Mobile users filed complaints stating that they were unable to make calls, send text messages, or use cellular data on their iPhones. The status bar of affected iPhones displayed the SOS icon, indicating that the device currently has no network connection at all. However, users can still make emergency calls during this period, which is a basic function retained by iPhones once regular cellular signal is lost.

In response to this large-scale outage, a T-Mobile spokesperson stated that the company's team is actively addressing reports of technical issues affecting some customers. All impacts on service are being urgently resolved, and this is currently the company's highest priority. The spokesperson said the company fully understands the importance of maintaining communication for users, and all available resources are now focused on resolving this issue as quickly as possible.
