Half-price Model 3 is on fire! SAIC MG 07 hits 10,000 firm orders in just 1 minute 57 seconds after launch.

On the evening of August 21, SAIC MG officially released its sales report: the all-new coupe MG 07 saw its large-order reservations surpass 10,000 units just 1 minute and 57 seconds after launch.
For comparison, the previous record of breaking 10,000 units was set by the MG4 at 39 minutes and 37 seconds. The MG 07 has slashed that time by 20 times, clearly showcasing its explosive popularity.
The MG 07 was launched at the Chengdu Auto Show, with a limited-time subsidized price ranging from 105,900 to 156,900 yuan, offering both hybrid and pure electric powertrains across 7 configurations.
The new car measures 4,886mm in length with a wheelbase of 2,825mm, putting it on par with the Tesla Model 3 in size, yet its entry price is less than half of the latter—essentially a half-price Model 3.
But the car's instant sell-out success isn't just about price. The new model features frameless doors, a five-position electric rear spoiler, 19-inch wheels, and other coupe elements that make it highly appealing to younger buyers in terms of design. The combination of a 168L front trunk and a 697L rear trunk also adds to its practicality as a bonus.
The cabin configuration continues MG's signature feature-packed approach, with high-spec trims offering a queen zero-gravity seat, full-vehicle ventilated, heated, and massaging seats, a 21-speaker 7.1.4 sky-channel audio system, and even a 30L dual-zone refrigerator hidden in the trunk.
Intelligence is another major selling point. The MG 07 is equipped with the Momenta R7 autonomous driving solution, supporting urban and highway NOA, parking in 9 scenarios, and 25 active safety features. The LiDAR version brings the threshold for advanced driver assistance down to just over 110,000 yuan.
In terms of powertrain, the new car is pure electric, offering two power options: 175kW and 235kW, with a 0-100 km/h acceleration time as fast as 5.9 seconds. It pairs with a 67kWh semi-solid-state battery or a 91kWh ternary lithium battery, corresponding to CLTC ranges of 610km/650km and 845km, respectively.
The ternary lithium battery variant is built on an 800V high-voltage architecture, supporting 5C ultra-fast charging, while all models come standard with 6.6kW vehicle-to-load (V2L) discharge.
The plug-in hybrid version is powered by a 1.5L engine with a maximum output of 82kW, paired with a drive motor delivering 152kW. It offers a CLTC pure electric range of 245km, a CLTC fuel consumption of 2.91L per 100km in depleted battery mode, and a combined CLTC range of up to 1,745km on a full tank and full charge.
Judging by the 10,000-unit milestone in 1 minute and 57 seconds, the price war in the 100,000-yuan coupe segment has entered a new phase. The MG 07 differentiates itself with semi-solid-state batteries and a dual-powertrain strategy, putting pressure on rivals in the same price bracket, such as the Deepal SL03 and BYD Qin L EV.
