The first HarmonyOS two-in-one tablet PC—Huawei MatePad Edge—has received the HarmonyOS 7 Pioneer Beta update push, with version number 7.0.0.102SP5.

According to the introduction, this update brings new features such as Immersive Light Sensing and Star Shield Anti-Fraud, while also optimizing multiple experiences including desktop personalization, system interaction, notes, calendar, notifications, contacts, and畅连.

Among them, Immersive Light Sensing adds new visual effects and covers more usage scenarios, including dragging desktop icons into large folders and adjusting volume in the control center, while also supporting adjustment of visual effect levels based on personal preference.

In terms of security, Star Shield Anti-Fraud adds AI voice change detection and risk QR code recognition functions. During calls, it can identify suspected forged voices and provide reminders, while also recognizing risk QR codes and automatically blocking them, further enhancing device usage security.

The new version supports long-pressing desktop folders to select "Dissolve," allowing apps in the folder to be restored to the desktop with one tap; it also simplifies the way to adjust desktop icon font size, allowing quick entry into settings by pinching the desktop with two fingers.

For system interaction, long-pressing the status bar clock can temporarily switch to "hours, minutes, seconds" display mode, which is convenient for scenarios requiring high time precision such as ticket grabbing and flash sales, and it automatically restores after 15 minutes.

The status bar also adds a quick return to previous app function. When a user opens another app window from the current app, the upper left corner displays the previous app name and a return arrow, allowing quick return with a tap.

In addition, the Xiaoyi navigation bar experience has been optimized, and the three-button navigation adds a hide function to further increase usable space during large-screen operations.

For notes, the to-do time reminder adds custom repeat cycles, supporting automatic loop reminders; to-do sorting supports long-press drag adjustment, and locked notes add a hide function to further protect important content.

The calendar adds a desk calendar mode desktop card and supports importing external schedules via email accounts and URL links, enabling multi-platform schedule synchronization.

In other aspects, notification and status bar settings support searching apps in alphabetical order; contacts support merging duplicate contacts with the same number but different names, and handle conflicts in fields such as company and position.

畅连 also adds a one-tap screen sharing function. Users can directly enable sharing in the chat dialog and support doodling during sharing, improving remote communication efficiency.
