The ecosystem continues to expand! Dishui Lake Forum showcases 40 domestic RISC-V chips, with mass production rate exceeding 90%

At the forum, Dai Weimin, Chairman of the Shanghai Open Processor Industry Innovation Center and Chairman, CEO, and President of VeriSilicon, stated that the Dishui Lake Forum has been held for five consecutive sessions, with each session highlighting approximately 10 new domestic RISC-V chip products that represent China's advanced IC design capabilities and closely align with market and application demands.
To date, the forum has cumulatively showcased over 40 products, with a mass-production rate exceeding 90%, broadly covering consumer electronics, smart home, wearable devices, communications, automotive electronics, and industrial control sectors.
This production milestone clearly demonstrates that domestic RISC-V chips are accelerating from technological breakthroughs toward large-scale deployment, showcasing robust application vitality across numerous industries.
In recent years, driven by collaborative efforts across the industry, RISC-V has seen rapid growth in China. Dai Weimin noted that in 2018, VeriSilicon, as the first chairman unit, led the establishment of the China RISC-V Industry Alliance (CRVIC), which now has 205 member units.
In 2024, VeriSilicon, together with Nuclei System Technology and DAMO Academy, co-founded the Shanghai Open Processor Industry Innovation Center (SOPIC), dedicated to building an open hardware platform and an open-source software ecosystem.
Meanwhile, VeriSilicon, in partnership with SOPIC, launched the "Industry-Education Integration Pioneer Class Program," creating a comprehensive shared curriculum covering RISC-V from design to practice. Among these, the first graduate-level course, "Introduction to RISC-V: Design and Practice," has been offered in 29 classes across 13 universities, reaching a total of 1,658 students, laying a solid foundation for RISC-V talent development.
As one of the world's top three instruction set architectures, RISC-V has become the fastest-growing ISA in recent years, thanks to its open-source, royalty-free nature and deep customizability. Especially as AI scenarios drive increasing demand for differentiated computing power, the value of RISC-V's open-source expansion is becoming increasingly prominent.
