NIO ES9 completes delivery of its 20,000th new car: Setting a new record for deliveries of China's 500,000-yuan-class high-end pure electric vehicles

NIO officially announced that the NIO ES9 has completed the delivery of its 20,000th new vehicle. NIO founder, chairman, and CEO William Li personally delivered the new vehicle to the 20,000th ES9 user, Mr. Xiao Wenhua, chairman of Hua Xiang Yuan Tea Industry Co., Ltd.

At the delivery ceremony, Xiao Wenhua expressed strong agreement with NIO's long-term commitment to independent R&D and innovation, and specifically praised the comfortable and stable driving experience delivered by the ES9's Tianxing intelligent chassis. He said that while sitting in the second row enjoying tea, he felt nothing even when the vehicle passed over speed bumps — it was as smooth as driving on flat ground.

Since deliveries began on May 28, 2026, the NIO ES9 reached the 20,000th delivery milestone in just 73 days, continuously setting delivery records for 500,000-level high-end pure electric vehicles in China's passenger vehicle market.

The ES9's delivery volume continues to climb, further consolidating NIO's leading position in the high-end pure electric market. According to reports, the NIO ES9 is positioned as a technology executive flagship SUV, offering three configurations: Executive Luxury Edition, Executive Signature Edition, and Horizon Special Edition. The starting price for full vehicle purchase is 498,000 yuan, while the starting price with the BaaS battery rental plan is 390,000 yuan.

The ES9 offers two seating layouts — six-seat center island and six-seat aisle — delivering class-leading longitudinal, lateral, and vertical cabin space. The executive second row creates an exceptionally spacious riding experience, with entry and exit convenience far exceeding that of same-class models and mainstream MPVs. The trunk provides a massive 816-liter loading capacity, easily accommodating six passengers with thirteen suitcases for a full-load trip.

In terms of cabin experience, the ES9 is equipped with the Jiuxiao Tianqin 9.2.4.8 immersive sound system, featuring 47 speakers — the most in the industry — and delivering the industry's highest rated power output.
