Recently, Grace Tao Ling, Tesla’s Global Vice President, announced that the first batch of Tesla vehicles has officially begun delivery in India, with all units originating from the Shanghai Gigafactory. She stated, “Congratulations to the new owners! We look forward to providing consumers worldwide with a smooth and enjoyable mobility experience through Tesla’s products and services.”
In July this year, Tesla officially opened its first showroom in India, marking the company’s formal entry into the Indian market.
The starting price of the Model Y in India is 5.989 million rupees, while the Long Range Rear-Wheel Drive version is priced at 6.789 million rupees . The high price is attributed to the 70% import tariff imposed on Tesla vehicles entering India.
