Year-on-year surge of 300%! Domestic metal 3D printing equipment sees global order boom: orders already booked through year-end

According to reports, domestic industrial-grade metal 3D printing equipment is entering a boom period for production and sales, with some companies seeing order volumes surge threefold year-on-year, and orders already booked through the end of this year.
Industrial-grade metal 3D printing equipment falls under precision large-scale machinery, using lasers to fuse metal powder layer by layer to form components without the need for molds. It serves high-end manufacturing sectors such as aerospace, medical, and automotive.
Each machine involves complex production processes, with manufacturing cycles typically taking two to three months. Medium-sized equipment is priced at 5-6 million yuan, while large-scale units can cost 20-30 million yuan.
With the iteration of multi-laser technology, equipment processing efficiency has improved significantly. Dual-laser configurations can boost processing efficiency by 60%, with splicing accuracy controlled within 0.1 millimeters, further enhancing product performance.
Strong downstream demand is a key driver of the market's momentum. Aerospace is the largest application scenario for metal 3D printing, while demand from the medical and automotive industries continues to grow. Emerging sectors such as consumer electronics and humanoid robots, driven by lightweighting needs, are also gradually increasing their adoption of this technology, keeping the industry's overall growth in double digits over the long term.
Overseas markets are also performing strongly, with export value of domestic metal 3D printing equipment rising 76% year-on-year, with growth mainly coming from Asian and European markets.
Overseas orders now account for nearly 60% of many companies' total orders, covering regions such as the Middle East and Central Asia, with some bulk overseas orders reaching tens of millions of yuan.
Notably, domestic equipment going global is no longer just about selling hardware units; it is shifting toward integrated exports of equipment, components, process software, and technical services. Leveraging independent technological breakthroughs and the advantages of a complete domestic supply chain, domestic equipment is capturing overseas market share through cost-effectiveness and delivery efficiency.
