Xiaomi's large foldable MIX Ultra real device leaks: wine red color scheme + Xuanjie O3, the strongest in history

A blogger known as "Running New Energy Expert" shared a photo on a short-video platform featuring a group photo with Xiaomi founder Lei Jun.
Sharp-eyed netizens noticed that the new device in Lei Jun's hand appears to be Xiaomi's flagship wide-fold phone, which may be named the Xiaomi MIX Ultra. It features a wine-red color scheme, continuing the same design language as the Cabernet Sauvignon Red of the REDMI K100 Pro Max, and the device looks extremely slim and lightweight.
As Xiaomi's first wide-fold flagship, the MIX Ultra will debut with the Xuanjie O3 chip, marking the first time Xiaomi has adopted an in-house developed chip in its foldable product line. Reports indicate that the Xuanjie O3 is manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process, features a three-cluster architecture, and boasts a clock speed exceeding 4GHz.
Compared to externally sourced chips, the biggest advantage of the in-house solution lies in its ability to perform bottom-level, dedicated optimizations for pain points specific to foldable screens, such as dual-screen switching, split-screen power consumption, and heat generation, enabling more precise adaptation in energy efficiency scheduling and thermal control.
At the same time, display utilization in scenarios like video playback, reading, and split-screen use has been significantly improved, with a noticeably enhanced visual immersion. In particular, when watching widescreen videos, black borders are greatly reduced, delivering a superior viewing experience.
Additionally, the MIX Ultra will also debut Xiaomi's in-house AI large model and proprietary operating system, fully unleashing the integrated capabilities of the self-developed chip, AI, and system working in tandem. The device is expected to be officially released in September.
Notably, Apple is also set to launch its wide-fold flagship in the same month. Based on the current strategies of major manufacturers, the wide-fold form factor is becoming the industry's mainstream trend, with more brands expected to follow suit with their own products. This trend also indicates that wide-screen design is emerging as a key battleground for brands seeking differentiated advantages.
