The United States is considering allowing Apple to purchase Chinese storage products, limited to devices used in the Chinese market.

According to media reports, the U.S. government is considering approving Apple's purchase of products from Chinese memory manufacturers to alleviate its current memory supply pressure.

Reports indicate that Apple has been testing DRAM and NAND chips from two Chinese memory suppliers, and if they are subsequently approved to enter the supply chain, the related products are expected to be primarily used in Apple devices sold in the Chinese market.

It is reported that the U.S. government is preparing to formally approve Apple's procurement of memory chips from the aforementioned two manufacturers, with the relevant decision potentially announced in September this year. However, as of now, this news has not been confirmed by either the U.S. government or Apple officially.

Apple has also recently signaled an intention to expand its supply sources. During its earnings call, the company stated that it will continue to evaluate different suppliers to optimize its supply structure and seek price improvements.

Apple CEO Tim Cook has also publicly stated that Apple is evaluating all options, noting that there are currently three main DRAM suppliers, and bringing in more suppliers would help secure supply and could bring pricing benefits.

At present, there remains uncertainty regarding when Chinese memory manufacturers' products can officially enter Apple's supply chain.
