Nexperia China CEO: R&D operations fully restored, over 40 billion chips delivered in the past 11 months

At the global launch event for Nexperia China's new products, CEO Zhang Qiuming announced that the company's R&D operations have fully resumed, with the product iteration cycle shortened to 6-12 months. Over 10,000 models have been completed or are currently under development.
Production ramp-up speed has significantly improved from the previous 12-16 weeks to 4-6 weeks, more than doubling delivery efficiency. On the supply chain front, the company has established ample inventory reserves, and the output per 12-inch wafer is 2.2 to 4 times higher than that of 6-inch and 8-inch wafers, markedly enhancing cost competitiveness.
Zhang Qiuming revealed that over the past 11 months, Nexperia China has delivered more than 40 billion chips to over a thousand customers worldwide. As one of the leading global power semiconductor companies, Nexperia's product portfolio in process and performance efficiency is regarded as an industry benchmark. However, he also candidly admitted, "Being a century-old company also means we must confront the baggage of history head-on."
To break the deadlock, Nexperia China has launched a localization strategy for market structure transformation, focusing strategic priorities on high-growth sectors such as AI servers, smart vehicles, photovoltaics, and industrial control, while driving production capacity toward high-value-added automotive-grade power devices.
Zhang Qiuming stated that the company has established a dual-dimensional framework of "global automotive-grade standards + local ultra-fast response," and the core weapon in this breakthrough battle is the industry-first 12-inch power semiconductor platform.
From Nexperia Semiconductor being taken over in September 2025, facing wafer supply disruptions in October, to announcing small-batch production of 12-inch wafer bipolar discrete devices in March 2026, and completing the basic establishment of an independent operation system by May—within just 200 days, Nexperia China executed a stunning counterattack from "supply cutoff" to "standing tall," successfully closing the loop on its local supply chain.
As of mid-2025, Nexperia Semiconductor's cumulative shipments have surpassed 100 billion units, serving over 25,000 customers globally. In 2024, the company ranked third globally in power discrete device revenue and firmly held the top position among domestic power semiconductor companies.
In niche segments, its small-signal diodes and ESD protection devices rank first globally in shipments, automotive-grade PowerMOS ranks second worldwide, and its global market share in automotive-grade power semiconductors exceeds 30%, with approximately 40% share in key automotive discrete component markets.
