Shiqing Intelligent releases fully domestic USB Gigabit Ethernet controller chip: equipped with USB 3.2 Gen1, speeds up to 5Gbps

ShiQing Intelligent Technology has officially launched the fully domestic USB Gigabit Ethernet controller chip PT153S.

Built on a self-developed RISC-V processor, this chip marks a significant breakthrough in the domestic high-speed interface chip sector. Within just three months of its market debut, shipments have surpassed one million units, demonstrating remarkable speed in industrial adoption.

In terms of performance, the PT153S benchmarks against leading international competitors and reaches top-tier industry standards. It integrates a USB 3.2 Gen1 high-speed interface with a data rate of 5Gbps, supports all speed modes, and offers plug-and-play compatibility with mainstream operating systems without requiring additional drivers. The Gigabit Ethernet port features adaptive speed negotiation, hardware checksum offloading, VLAN support, and Energy Efficient Ethernet, among other comprehensive functions.

The chip employs a highly integrated, interference-resistant design, incorporating multiple built-in power modules and flash memory. It delivers excellent surge and ESD protection, with power consumption and thermal performance on par with overseas flagship products that have over a decade of industry experience.

Leveraging the advantages of the RISC-V architecture—including open, royalty-free licensing, extensible instructions, and a mature ecosystem—ShiQing Technology has implemented proprietary instruction extensions tailored for the network card application, further optimizing power, performance, and area (PPA).

Additionally, the chip features a pin-compatible design with mainstream competitors, significantly reducing customer replacement costs. It can be widely applied across scenarios such as ultra-thin laptops, docking stations, and industrial control motherboards, with full compatibility across Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and HarmonyOS. An adapted version for gaming consoles is also expected to launch within the next 3–6 months.
