Computer building costs have risen again! RTX 5060 price soared over 500 yuan in three days

On JD.com, the price of Gigabyte RTX 5060 8G Eagle OC was still around 2,700 yuan on July 23, but by July 26 it had been directly marked at 3,259 yuan, an increase of over 500 yuan in just three days.

Looking back at the transmission path of this price hike, the pace is remarkably fast. In early July, upstream sources first reported price increases for GDDR6/GDDR7 VRAM. Around July 23, NVIDIA notified AIC manufacturers to raise the shipment price of GPU core plus VRAM packages. Just a few days later, retail prices responded.

During the same period, the second-hand market also saw significant fluctuations: On Xianyu, the price of RTX 5060 Ti 8G jumped from around 2,500 yuan to about 3,200 yuan, while the RTX 5060 8G is still around 2,500 yuan (prices observed on that day by users, not representing the overall market average). This created a price gap compared to new products on JD.com.

However, this lag usually doesn't last long. Once new product prices stabilize at a high level, it's only a matter of time before second-hand listing prices rise. Currently, the price of RTX 5060 8G is likely the last relatively low point in the short term.

Of course, "relatively low" does not mean cheap. The fact that a mid-range graphics card's second-hand price is approaching or even surpassing its original launch MSRP indicates that the market has deviated from its normal track.

From a broader market perspective, the core reason behind this price hike for the RTX 5060 mid-range graphics card remains the AI industry. DRAM manufacturers are allocating more and more production capacity to high-bandwidth HBM, continuously squeezing the supply of consumer-grade VRAM. This is no longer just an issue for NVIDIA but a structural contradiction within the entire memory chip supply chain.

In other words, this price hike is not a fluctuation caused by short-term supply-demand imbalance, so it is unlikely to drop back quickly.

For players planning to build a PC, there are currently two paths. If you need a card soon, either grab a second-hand RTX 5060 8G before it follows the price increase, or switch to previous-generation products with stable prices. Models like the RTX 4060 are still sufficient for mainstream games at 1080p to 2K resolutions.

For those who already have a card and simply want to upgrade, there is no need to follow the high prices now. The correction cycle for VRAM prices typically takes quarters. Buying in now might hit the price peak of the next six months. It's better to wait until the cost transmission fully settles before making a decision.
