Yang Zhilin, CEO of Moonshot AI, recently publicly debunked the US AI myth, stating that OpenAI has not invented anything new, but merely combined existing technologies from around the world.

Yang Zhilin pointed out that the real bottleneck for AGI is not technology, but organizational form. Traditional companies simply cannot build AGI and require a new organizational paradigm. This is a direct challenge to the commercialization path of US AI giants, sparking widespread discussion in the industry.

He emphasized that Kimi K3 proves China's AI has successfully pursued the open-source path, creating an AI development model different from Silicon Valley and breaking the US monopoly illusion in the AI field.

The Kimi K3 open-weight model launched by Moonshot AI poses a direct threat to the closed-source models of OpenAI and Anthropic. This model has sparked allegations of distillation, and the US plans to push for a ban on the use of China's open-source AI large models.

However, nearly 200 Silicon Valley companies have jointly opposed the ban. Additionally, tech giants such as Nvidia, Microsoft, Meta, and OpenAI have also jointly supported open-source AI.

It is worth mentioning that just a few days after its release, Kimi K3 topped the FrontendCode Arena programming leaderboard on Arena.ai with a score of 1679. Across seven subcategories, Kimi K3 ranked first in six areas, including brand and marketing, marking the first time an open-source model has surpassed all overseas closed-source models on this authoritative leaderboard.

China's progress in the open-source AI path demonstrates that innovation is not limited to the closed-source route, and the open-source path has become an important force that cannot be ignored.
