KaihongOS Desktop Edition (x86) gives old computers a new lease on life: compatible with 2nd-gen Core and Ryzen 2000G processors.

Shen Kaihong officially announced that KaihongOS Desktop Edition successfully adapted to x86 devices in July 2025, not only opening up new development space for domestic operating systems on the desktop, but also giving a new lease of life to a large number of existing old x86 computers.
Currently, KaihongOS Desktop Edition (x86) supports Intel Core platforms from the 2nd to 11th generation, while also planning adaptation for newer generation platforms, making it compatible with most existing terminal models on the market.
KaihongOS Desktop Edition (x86) has successfully adapted to AMD chip platforms, covering AMD Ryzen 2000G to 4000 series APU integrated graphics and RX 380 to RX 5000 series discrete graphics, providing strong support for the mainstream x86 chip ecosystem.
In terms of peripherals, mainstream graphics cards, sound cards, touchpads, WiFi, Bluetooth, cameras, and more are supported and ready to use out of the box. This means a large number of existing x86 devices can be revitalized with KaihongOS Desktop Edition (x86).
The system features a distributed soft bus and Kaihong Star Disk, enabling multi-device collaboration, task continuity, and resource sharing with HarmonyOS ecosystem devices. Thanks to its self-developed application compatibility engine, it can smoothly run national-level apps such as WeChat, WPS, and Douyin, covering daily office work and entertainment.
In terms of security, it has passed multiple authoritative certifications, including the Ministry of Public Security's Level 4 operating system certification and CCRC EAL5+.
For developers, this version comes with VS Code natively pre-installed, requiring no containers or offline packages, and provides the full version out of the box, resolving the previous issue of incomplete plugins.
The system includes OpenClaw and AI agent programming tools, and will later port the DeepSeek Harness agent framework, advancing compute card adaptation and filling the gap in AI compute support.
It is reported that Shen Kaihong's code contributions to the OpenHarmony community have exceeded 10 million lines, ranking first among ecosystem vendors outside of Huawei.
