Apple iOS 26.6 Official Version Released: Fixes 87 Vulnerabilities! Optimizes Indexing for iOS 27 in Advance.

Kuai Technology reported on July 28 that Apple officially released the iOS 26.6 stable version early this morning. This is essentially the last major version of iOS 26, mainly fixing a large number of vulnerabilities and optimizing daily user experience.
According to Apple's official security documentation, the system has fixed a total of 78 underlying risk items, corresponding to 87 independent CVE security vulnerabilities, covering almost all system modules including kernel, sandbox, photos, communication, maps, Game Center, etc.
Among them, 14 are high-risk kernel vulnerabilities that could previously be exploited by malicious programs to achieve unauthorized memory read/write and silently terminate system processes in the background.
This patch plugged the privacy leak vulnerability of iPhone mirroring and screen projection, fixed risks such as third-party apps illegally reading user device fingerprints, contact information, clipboard data, etc. At the same time, it added an independent isolated sandbox protection architecture for Apple Maps, imitating the BlastDoor security mechanism of the Messages app to isolate external untrusted data, reducing the probability of malicious files invading the entire device. High-risk execution vulnerabilities related to image parsing, scene rendering, and cloud verification have also been fully fixed.
It is worth noting that this update secretly includes front-end underlying optimizations for iOS 27, which is also the key design that distinguishes this version from previous minor updates.
iOS 27 will be released in September this year. The new version comes with a fully upgraded AI Siri, relying on a complete Spotlight global index to achieve cross-app retrieval in seconds. If you wait until upgrading to the new system to complete index rebuilding, it will prolong the upgrade time and consume a lot of background resources.

Apple chose to complete the local index reconstruction precompilation in advance during the iOS 26.6 phase. When the device is idle, it automatically processes data sorting in the background. When users later upgrade to iOS 27, they do not need to repeat the indexing steps, greatly shortening the upgrade waiting time while ensuring the response speed of the AI voice assistant retrieval.
Regarding user-reported long-term issues with battery life, overheating, and functional failures, the new version has completed batch fixes, addressing common bugs from previous versions such as device overheating in high-load scenarios, abnormal standby power consumption, iCloud sticker sync damage, and HDR screenshot information disorder.
