In its first funding round, it raised over $900 million! XPeng's robot goes viral: valuation now exceeds $6.3 billion

XPeng officially announced today that its robotics business has completed its first round of financing of over $900 million, with a post-investment valuation exceeding $6.3 billion (approximately RMB 43 billion), setting a new record for single-round private equity financing in China's embodied intelligence industry.
The round was proactively initiated by top global investment institutions, led by IDG Capital with participation from Gaorong Ventures, and supported by strategic investors Tencent and Alibaba. XPeng Group continues to maintain controlling interest in the robotics business.
The raised funds will primarily be used for software and hardware R&D in XPeng's robotics business, iterative training of physical AI models, high-quality data collection, construction of a full-chain mass production base, and global commercial expansion.
IDG Capital has deep ties with XPeng. In July 2022, XPeng's ecosystem company XPeng Pengxing completed a Series A financing of over $100 million, with IDG Capital as one of the lead investors.
Over the past 12 years, XPeng Group has consistently adhered to full-stack self-development, building a solid technical foundation for the physical AI era, including physical world foundation models, Turing AI chips, and the AI Infra system.
In June this year, XPeng's Robotics Center established nine new second-level departments, covering product, embodied systems engineering, manipulation and safety development, embodied intelligence, and data closed-loop, with the organizational structure now fully deployed.
XPeng's new-generation IRON humanoid robot is planned to enter mass production by the end of 2026, with a monthly production capacity target of over 1,000 units.
The IRON is equipped with the second-generation VLA model and three Turing AI chips, building a high-level "large and small brain" collaborative system combining VLT, VLA, and VLM, enabling complex tasks such as conversation, walking, and manipulation.
In terms of appearance, the IRON features a human-like spine, bionic muscles, fully wrapped flexible skin, a 3D curved display on the head, and lifelike expressive eyes, earning it the title of "the most human-like humanoid robot."
Regarding the mass production base, XPeng has initiated construction of the industry's first full-chain mass production base at the Guangzhou Guangtang Kechuang City Embodied Intelligence Industrial Park, with a total building area of approximately 110,000 square meters, built strictly to high-standard industrial facility requirements.
In terms of rollout pace, the IRON will first begin commercial scenario applications at XPeng stores and parks, including store tours and park shopping guidance, with official launch and delivery targeting the Chinese and overseas markets in 2027.
