Huawei pioneers the wide-flat smartphone! Pura X View pricing is a pleasant surprise: destined to be a hit.

On August 20, Huawei publicly showcased the world's first wide-screen bar phone, the Pura X View, bringing the expansive display experience of foldable screens directly into a bar-shaped body, and debuting with the HarmonyOS 7 operating system. Currently, Huawei has only previewed the new product's exterior design ahead of time, with the final price to be announced later.

Blogger Dingjiao Digital revealed that the Pura X View's pricing is quite competitive. Another blogger, Chaoweijie, speculated that the phone's price could reference the Pura 90 Pro, suggesting a price around 5,500 yuan (note: the Pura 90 Pro starts at 5,499 yuan).

In terms of screen specifications, the Huawei Pura X View features a 6.39-inch display with a screen area of 114.27 square centimeters, larger than the 6.9-inch iPhone 17 Pro Max (111.55 square centimeters). The screen has an aspect ratio of approximately 16:9.5, a resolution of 2232x1320, a peak brightness of 6,500 nits, and supports 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

The device breaks away from the common slim, elongated screen ratio found in mainstream phones, returning to a wider ratio closer to traditional video content. The most intuitive advantage of this design is that when watching 16:9 format videos, the top and bottom black bars are significantly reduced, greatly enhancing the sense of picture fill.

Real-world testing shows that when playing 16:9 videos, the visible display area can increase by 30% to 40%, with black bar areas noticeably shrinking. In terms of actual viewing experience, it even feels more immersive than some devices with larger screens, with many users describing the experience as "holding a small tablet in hand."

The advantages of the wide screen extend beyond video scenarios; the broader horizontal field of view also provides a more comfortable reading experience when browsing documents, spreadsheets, and e-books.
