Computing power costs rise again! Nvidia reportedly notifies customers: AI chip prices increase by over 15% across the board.

According to media reports, due to surging storage chip costs, some major customers of NVIDIA have been informed that server prices equipped with its AI chips will generally rise by over 15%.

Sources familiar with the matter revealed that this price adjustment will cover systems shipping early next year, including the flagship Vera Rubin and Grace Blackwell series. Since the communication has not been made public, the sources requested anonymity and stated that the increase will vary depending on chip generation and storage configuration.

These sources said that companies manufacturing servers for major data center operators such as Microsoft, Alphabet (Google's parent company), and Oracle have recently begun notifying customers of the price hike plans.

Professional analysis points out that even as an industry leader, NVIDIA finds it difficult to maintain original prices or absorb rising costs alone, which precisely reflects that amid surging demand for AI infrastructure, storage chip manufacturers—such as Samsung Electronics, SK Hynix, and Micron—are wielding extremely strong pricing power.

In addition, other major tech companies like Apple and Qualcomm have also recently stated that they have been forced to raise product prices due to tight chip supply chains.
