Hongqi ultra-fast charging battery achieves major technological breakthrough: Fully charged in 8 minutes and ready to go!

China FAW officially announced that recently, the Hongqi brand, in collaboration with China Automotive New Energy, independently developed an ultra-fast charging battery that completed a 25°C charging performance test.

Test data shows that the battery takes only 3 minutes and 41 seconds from 10% to 70% SOC, and only 8 minutes and 3 seconds from 10% to 97% SOC, with indicators leading the industry.

According to official sources, the battery is equipped with an efficient ultra-fast charging anode, breaking through the cell charging rate bottleneck to achieve a peak 12C charging rate; self-developed low desolvation energy electrolyte effectively reduces lithium-ion migration barriers; innovative application of composite carbon source coating + bulk doping modification technology reduces internal resistance by 15% compared to cells of the same system, significantly improving charge transport efficiency and charging response speed.

Adopting an intelligent uniform temperature liquid cooling system to improve the overall heat dissipation uniformity of the battery pack, the temperature difference of the entire pack can be controlled within 3°C during fast charging; combined with a full-scenario graded temperature control strategy, the system adaptively adjusts the temperature control strategy according to driving, parking and other conditions, keeping the battery in the optimal working area and reducing thermal management energy consumption.

Equipped with a fast-charging adaptive strategy based on safety boundaries, it monitors and limits the temperature rise rate of the cells during charging in real time, dynamically adjusting the charging output power curve.

While ensuring the optimal charging time, it performs real-time closed-loop verification of cell voltage and charge, eliminating abnormal issues such as overcharging and overvoltage, addressing the safety shortcomings of fast charging at the control algorithm level, and establishing a multi-layer safety protection mechanism for the entire high-power fast charging process.
