Chery Group sells 277,000 vehicles in July, becoming China's first automaker to exceed 200,000 units in monthly exports

Chery Group released its July sales figures, with a total of 276,820 vehicles sold across the group last month, up 23.3% year-on-year, showing steady overall growth momentum.

The standout was definitely the export business, with 202,533 vehicles sold overseas in July, up 70.1% year-on-year. This also makes it the first Chinese auto brand to exceed 200,000 vehicles in single-month exports.

Moreover, overseas sales have set new records for Chinese automakers for five consecutive months, and the overseas market has become the core pillar of Chery's sales.

Looking at the new energy segment, 129,067 NEV models were sold in July, up a substantial 97.5% year-on-year, nearly doubling sales.

It's clear that as Chery's electric vehicle product line expands, more and more people are buying new energy models both domestically and overseas, and the electrification transition is moving at a very fast pace.

In the first seven months of this year, Chery sold a total of 1,634,353 vehicles, up 10.1% year-on-year. Cumulative exports reached 1,146,350 units, up 71.2%; cumulative NEV sales reached 604,305 units, up 42.3%.

Looking at the Hong Kong-listed entity of Chery Automobile on its own, its own-brand models sold 261,876 units in July, up 24.1% year-on-year — a growth rate exceeding the group's overall level, showing a solid foundation in its core passenger vehicle business.

With July sales released, Chery also hit two key milestones. First, the group's cumulative global vehicle sales surpassed 20 million units, cementing years of accumulated market recognition.

Second, Chery Automobile made the 2026 Fortune Global 500 list for the first time, ranking 383rd, with return on net assets in the global top 30 and first among Chinese companies — its hard strength earning international recognition.

Chery now covers multiple product lines including Chery, Exeed, Jetour, and iCAR, with corresponding models across fuel vehicles, off-road vehicles, family MPVs, and pure electric sedans. With a rich vehicle lineup and expanding overseas channels, there remains considerable room for sales growth ahead.
