according to tipster Jaykihn, Intel's next-generation desktop processor, codenamed "Nova Lake-S", will significantly enhance integrated graphics performance, with the version featuring 12 graphics units requiring 65W-level power supply support from the motherboard.

This power specification is specifically designed for SKUs equipped with 12 Xe3P cores, and is currently the only configuration in the Nova Lake-S lineup that explicitly requires dual VCCGT phase power delivery.

According to an earlier leaked specification sheet, this processor features 4 performance cores, 8 efficiency cores, and 4 low-power efficiency cores, forming a powerful combination of 16 CPU cores and 12 GPU cores.

To clarify, the 65W refers to the requirement for the motherboard's power delivery design, not the processor's nominal power consumption. Simply put, if the motherboard's power delivery design fails to meet the 65W level, the integrated graphics of this processor will not reach full speed due to insufficient voltage supply, thereby affecting graphics performance.

In terms of market positioning, Intel is clearly targeting AMD's Ryzen G series APUs. Currently, AMD's high-performance integrated graphics processors like the Ryzen 7 8700G have a default TDP of 65W. Intel's choice of this power range is evidently aimed at directly challenging AMD's integrated graphics advantage in the socketed processor market.
