Former CEO of Arm China leads the team! Singapore launches 5nm chip: 7.5 times the performance of M4 Pro

Acrab, founded by former Arm China co-CEO Pan Zhenyuan, has recently released the 5nm AI chip Gelix 1. This chip integrates a 20-core Arm CPU, a 3TFLOPS GPU, a standalone NPU, and an audio/video processing engine, delivering a total AI computing power of 700 TOPS.
In terms of configuration, the GELIX 1 is equipped with 8MB of large L1 cache, shared L2 cache bandwidth of 768GB/s, and unified memory bandwidth of 273GB/s.
This chip supports local operation of large models with up to 100 billion parameters, without relying on cloud computing power, and the overall device size is comparable to the Mac mini.
In official tests published by Acrab, when running the Gemma 26B model (with a 40,000-token context window), the GELIX 1 achieved a prefill rate of 1416 token/s. Under the same conditions, the Mac mini equipped with the M4 Pro chip reached only 188 token/s. The GELIX 1's prefill speed is 7.5 times that of the M4 Pro.
Acrab provides a complete software stack and agent reference design for the GELIX 1. Additionally, the company has launched the Agent Box, a personal edge AI system based on this chip.
Currently, the specific price and launch date of the GELIX 1 have not been announced, and Acrab's test data are all self-reported and have not yet been independently verified by third parties.
It is worth noting that Pan Zhenyuan previously served as co-CEO of Arm China and was deeply involved in building China's chip ecosystem. In 2024, he founded Acrab, headquartered in Singapore, which has raised over $350 million in total funding, with investors including Huangpu River Capital and Vertex, a Temasek affiliate.
