Musk Says Neuralink Users Will Eventually Outperform All Human Players

Elon Musk has once again highlighted the revolutionary potential of Neuralink, his brain–computer interface company. Sharing a recent report about Nolan Arbaugh, the world’s first human to receive a Neuralink implant, Musk suggested that people equipped with the device will eventually surpass human capabilities in gaming and beyond.

According to the report, 21 months after receiving the implant, Arbaugh has made remarkable progress. He can now type using only his thoughts, is studying precalculus and neuroscience, and has even started a public speaking career.

Musk commented that Arbaugh may become the first person to receive a Neuralink upgrade or possibly a second implant, further enhancing his cognitive and motor abilities. “It won’t be long before Neuralink users can beat most people in fast-reaction video games,” Musk wrote, adding, “Eventually, they will outperform all human players.”

The statement underscores Musk’s long-held belief that brain–computer interfaces like Neuralink will blur the line between human intelligence and artificial augmentation, potentially reshaping how people interact with technology.
