HarmonyOS Smart Vehicles Drops Prices Below 200,000 RMB with the New Shangjie H5

The highly anticipated HarmonyOS Smart Vehicles launch event took place tonight, bringing a flurry of new updates. The “Jie” family’s best-selling models — the Aito M7 and Aito M9 — both received significant updates, and Huawei, in collaboration with SAIC, unveiled the very first model under their newly created Shangjie brand: the Shangjie H5.

This move has strong market implications, especially since the Shangjie H5 pushes the HarmonyOS Smart Vehicles lineup into a sub-200,000 RMB price segment for the first time.

Pricing & Positioning

The Shangjie H5 is priced between 159,800 RMB and 199,800 RMB, featuring both range-extended (EREV) and pure electric (EV) versions. All trims are rear-wheel drive, built on a 400V platform.

  • EREV (Extended Range Version):
    • Pro Trim – Equipped with the basic ADS 4.0 driver-assistance system, no LiDAR, starting at 159,800 RMB.
    • Max Trim – Adds LiDAR for enhanced intelligent driving features, +20,000 RMB over the Pro.
    • Both versions come with a 32.6 kWh battery pack.
  • Pure Electric Version:
    • Four total trims, split between Pro and Max based on intelligent driving capabilities.
    • Each category offers two battery options:
      • 64.6 kWh LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate)Standard range, CLTC 525 km.
      • 80 kWh NCM (Nickel-Cobalt-Manganese)Long range, CLTC 655 km.

Market Impact

With a starting price of 159,800 RMB, the Shangjie H5 significantly lowers the entry barrier for consumers interested in HarmonyOS-powered vehicles. This positions it as a strong contender in China’s mainstream NEV market, appealing to price-sensitive buyers who still want advanced smart-driving features backed by Huawei’s HarmonyOS ecosystem.

The updated Aito M7, Aito M9, and the all-new Shangjie H5 collectively showcase Huawei’s ambition to expand its smart vehicle lineup, strengthening its competitive edge against other leading Chinese EV brands.
