Xuanjie O3, O100, and D100 launched together! Xiaomi's Zhu Dan: Investment in chip R&D is buying a ticket for the next decade.

At the Xiaomi technical communication meeting held yesterday, the company officially unveiled three self-developed chips with completely different positioning in one go, finally presenting its full multi-category, all-scenario self-developed chip layout to the public.

The three new products are the flagship mobile main chip Xuanjie O3, whose measured performance from official data far exceeds Apple's A19 Pro, the Xuanjie O100 targeting high-computing-power scenarios, and the Xuanjie D100 specifically covering the automotive chip segment, spanning three core scenarios: consumer electronics, computing services, and smart vehicles.

In response to external discussions about this large-scale release of self-developed chips, Xiaomi Group Vice President Zhu Dan explained in a post-meeting interview that Xiaomi's judgment is very clear: in the AI era, computing power is the foundational bedrock of all intelligent experiences. Without mastering independently controllable chip capabilities, there is no way to define differentiated product experiences from the ground up.

Therefore, Xiaomi's sustained investment in chip R&D is by no means the "money-burning" behavior misunderstood by outsiders; it is essentially securing an irreplaceable ticket to the core competitive track of the next technology decade for the company.

In a previously published article, Lei Jun also mentioned that the most critical support behind Xiaomi's hardcore self-developed chip achievements today is the firm determination from top to bottom across the entire company to tackle underlying technologies head-on, and that there are no shortcuts on the path of self-development.

According to publicly available information at the event, Xiaomi officially restarted its large-chip R&D roadmap over five years ago. During this period, cumulative R&D investment has exceeded 21 billion yuan, and the dedicated chip R&D team has grown to nearly 3,000 senior technical experts, with the entire self-development system now fully operational.

In the past, consumer electronics manufacturers' self-developed chip efforts mostly remained at the level of testing the waters in a single category or single track. Xiaomi, however, has simultaneously completed all three core routes—consumer-grade mobile chips, high-computing-power server chips, and automotive-grade intelligent chips—marking the first time this has been achieved in the domestic consumer electronics industry. This multi-track parallel self-developed chip matrix will also become the most critical technological moat for Xiaomi to connect its full ecosystem of intelligent experiences going forward.
