Global debut of Xuanjie O3, Lu Weibing has already switched to Xiaomi MIX Ultra

Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing revealed during an interaction with Mi fans that he has already switched to a new Xiaomi phone.

As expected, this new device is Xiaomi's upcoming first large-foldable model, likely to be named the Xiaomi MIX Ultra, or possibly the Xiaomi MIX Fold 5. The phone will debut globally with the self-developed chip Xuanjie O3, making it Xiaomi's most powerful foldable phone to date.

As early as the first half of this year, Xiaomi executives had already teased this large-foldable product. At the time, Lu Weibing revealed that Xiaomi would launch a terminal device integrating its self-developed chip, self-developed operating system, and self-developed AI large model this year, unleashing the full synergy of all three.

This new product has been dubbed the "Grand Assembly" by Mi fans, representing the culmination of Xiaomi's self-developed technologies and marking a milestone in Xiaomi's full self-reliance across core areas.

Among the most anticipated features is the self-developed Xuanjie O3 chip, manufactured using TSMC's 3nm process. Reports indicate that the Xuanjie O3 significantly improves IPC performance, maintaining high work efficiency even at low and medium frequencies, with actual performance expected to deliver surprises.

Industry insiders believe that the deeper logic behind Xiaomi's development of the Xuanjie chip series is to establish a more controllable technology foundation for its "Human x Car x Home" full-ecosystem strategy. The arrival of the Xuanjie O3 makes this path clearer, positioning Xiaomi as one of the very few phone manufacturers in the industry to achieve full-stack self-development across core areas.

The device will be officially released in September, with a launch timing close to Apple's large-foldable iPhone Ultra. The same-month debut of both brands' large-foldable flagships makes this September a highly anticipated milestone in the foldable phone market.
