Full-process domestic localization! SmartSens SCC85XS smartphone CMOS image sensor released: 200MP, 1/2.8-inch

SmartClarity-SL Pro platform, marking the first 0.61μm ultra-small pixel smartphone CMOS image sensor built on a fully domestic high-end process.

SCC85XS achieves full domestic production from chip design and process development to mass production, further solidifying the self-sufficiency of the high-end smartphone ultra-high-pixel CIS supply chain, offering a new choice for domestic flagship phones to deliver ultimate ultra-high-definition imaging experiences.

SCC85XS supports internal 2x lossless cropping to output 50MP, 4x lossless cropping to output 12.5MP, and full-window 200MP output.

Leveraging the 22nm Stack process, it optimizes power consumption and heat generation during high-frame-rate recording. On the imaging front, read noise is significantly reduced: approximately 0.8e- in 200MP/50MP modes, a 32% improvement over comparable competitors; and as low as 1.4e- in 12.5MP mode, a 17% reduction, delivering cleaner low-light imagery.

With NBDTI ultra-narrow pixel isolation and Low-n Grid optical architecture, peak quantum efficiency reaches 80%, suppressing optical crosstalk while balancing low-light sensitivity and color reproduction.

The chip integrates hardware-based Hex Crop Remosaic and Quad Remosaic on-chip pixel rearrangement, enabling direct hardware output of Bayer RAW data in 2x and 4x zoom scenarios, reducing backend computational load on the phone and minimizing processing latency.

Dynamic range reaches 83dB, supporting 4K 120fps standard video and full-focal-range 4K 60fps HDR video recording.

Equipped with AllPix ADAF full-pixel autofocus technology, it achieves high-speed focusing across the 1x-4x focal range. Combined with PixGain HDR+VS snapshot mode, it improves the success rate of capturing moving subjects.

SCC85XS will accept samples in December 2026 and enter mass production in Q1 2027.
