Didi's next-generation autonomous driving model Robotaxi R2 debuts: 33 sensors, GPU computing power exceeding 2000 TOPS

The 18th International Transport Exhibition is underway at the Beijing National Convention Center, where Didi has brought its jointly developed autonomous taxi Robotaxi R2 with GAC Aion, drawing a crowd of onlookers.

The vehicle is already offering autonomous ride-hailing services to regular passengers in demonstration zones in Beijing and Guangzhou.

The car is equipped with Didi Autonomous Driving's latest-generation hardware platform, integrating 33 sensors including LiDAR, cameras, 4D millimeter-wave radar, infrared cameras, and acoustic sensors to achieve full-scenario, full-condition perception and recognition.

It also features the industry's first mass-produced three-domain integrated central computing brain, with GPU computing power exceeding 2000 TOPS to process massive amounts of sensor data.

The cabin design prioritizes passenger experience, with a spacious rear seat area and a 17.3-inch ceiling-mounted display for entertainment.

AI voice interaction allows direct voice control—starting trips, adjusting the AC, windows, and ambient lighting can all be done by simply speaking, without touching the screen. The vehicle has also been adapted for global markets, not just domestic ones.

Beyond the Robotaxi R2, Didi's booth showcased several other new products, including the Qingju e-bike VM7.2 compliant with new national standards and the dual-shock-absorber "Wenwen Di" shared bike. On-demand bus services and Didi Bus were also on display.

On the overseas front, Didi has entered 14 countries and regions, serving over 100 million users. Its 99 platform in Brazil is actively promoting ride-hailing electrification, driving related local investment, and has completed 65 million electric vehicle ride orders.

As of June 30, 2026, Didi's smart charging network covers over 290 cities nationwide, connecting more than 74,000 charging stations.

At the exhibition, Didi also showcased a liquid-cooled ultra-fast charging pile co-developed with a charging equipment manufacturer, with a maximum output power of 1600kW.
