HarmonyOS 7 adds direct power supply! Huawei Pura 90 series among first to support—play while charging without overheating.

Recently, Huawei pushed the HarmonyOS 7 Pollen Beta update to 41 device models including the Mate 80 series, Mate 70 series, and Pura 90 series.

HarmonyOS 7 adds a “Direct Power Supply” feature. When users play games while connected to a charger, the system can prioritize direct power from the charger to the phone, while temporarily pausing battery charging, thereby reducing heat generated by battery charging/discharging and effectively lowering device temperature.

According to Huawei's intelligent customer service assistant Xiaoyi, models that currently support direct power supply include the Huawei Pura 90 series, the Huawei Pura X Max standard edition, and the Huawei nova 16 series.

Supported models need to upgrade Game Assistant to version 16.2.2.300. Users can complete the upgrade in-game by navigating to “Game Assistant > Settings > About > Version Info > Check for Updates.”

Updates for other models are being pushed urgently; the specific rollout time depends on actual availability.

It is understood that HarmonyOS 7 delivers a comprehensive upgrade from the system's underlying architecture to the user experience, and establishes an agent-oriented system architecture.

Among the highlights, the HarmonyOS Intelligent Agent Framework 2.0 has been further upgraded, with Xiaoyi deeply integrated into the system, enhancing intelligent comprehension and task execution capabilities. HarmonyOS Spatial Computing leverages 3D vision and interaction to deliver a more immersive user experience.

In terms of performance, HarmonyOS 7 upgrades to the Ultra-Smooth ArkEngine and debuts the HarmonyOS Performance Large Model, further improving system fluidity.

In terms of security, HarmonyOS 7 upgrades to the Star Shield security architecture, building an AI security foundation that delivers six anti-fraud capabilities and an ecosystem-wide joint anti-fraud platform.
